Spiderdlb-'its music, dick, but not as we know it'
Despite being completely unknown, Spider and Dick Le Burgh have managed to drink huge quantities of tea and smoke too many cigarettes during the composing and performing of their music. What more can be asked of them?

Hey, wait a minute, things can't be all that bad...listen...

 http://www.myspace.com/jbattt

"If you listen to just one track this year, it must be Hey Jose by the Trouser Trumpets"

Sir Max Cliff-hanger, Public relations consultant to the Tsars.

Perhaps we'll get through the icy waters (underground) after all, Sid?

A few days earlier, in those halcyon days when the Trouser Trumpets were but a distant cacophony...

Rumours abound of an imminent disaster. The good ship ES appears to be heading straight for the Ice-Dance Christmas Special. The crew are noticeable by their general absence from the controls, and the occassional distress call. Dick Le Burgh has begun to rearrange his chair frequently and Spider is wondering what they will do without their new found friends and the wonderful sounds and pictures and words they have all brought to a little corner of Norfolk.

As passengers on board someone else's venture, there's little we can do but watch and wait. Little, that is, except to thank all those of you who have been so generous with your music, pictures and words. There's an awful lot of effort, love and care gone into so many different things that can be found here, and it has always felt more relaxed and informal, more friendly than the bigger brands I've seen.

So thanks again if it is to be 'goodbye', and thanks to to those who have made this opportunity available.

The Troll? Ha! By the time he re-emerges from his new subterranean pad (which it actually is this time) we'll probably be elsewhere.

As Roy Harper said (something like):

We'll soon be gone from here

Year upon light year

We'll take our stories with us there...

I'm staying on board with the band, but if anyone has any recommendations for an alternative home, should the worst happen, we'll be only too pleased to hear.

Till then, hear this.....!!!!!

It's old, but it's new!

STOP PRESS: Although 'no longer available', you can download it, or select 'listen' above and it is on the playlist!! Another BG treatment, for which we are eternally grateful, although you may not feel so positive after 15 minutes 56 seconds of peculiar bass guitar playing...but you never know!

Yes, thanks to BGs spot on advice this BG'd version has now reappeared. Here, the occupants of the Troll's vegetable garden dance themselves into a stupour, with plenty of groink, slutch and foozle, but with a lot less hiss and a greater degree of clarity than in the original recording! Once again, great thanks to BG for his unswerving care and attention to detail. Did I mention splod? Bass solo recorded live through Chris R's magic box. From the 'eine kleine trollmusik 2' folder/CD.

Given that old BG magic touch, it's the version that we need in this time! Thanks to BG. Original to be found in the eine kleine trollmusik 2 folder.

Spinning Around - revitalised 2007.mp3
Also known as Trolling Around/Not Drowning But Raving/Clever Dick , this has emerged with some additional effects but much more like it was meant to sound! In this, the ultimate follow up to 'Not Raving but Drowning', our heroes continued to wrestle with an assortment of faulty second-hand equipment and old cassette tapes. Now it's your turn!

Gilding the Dome - revitalised 2007.mp3
From Moor, given the Audacity Treatment! It creates some interesting background effects, but certainly a vast improvement on the hiss of the originals!

After All - revitalised 2007.mp3
A track from The Spiderdome given the Audacity treatment (thanks to John Kelly: www.rockinpaddy.com - a website for people serious about equality and Guinness!!), and the first evidence of the 'Spider dlb goes mp3 project' (as requested by Back Ground).

Dear Spiderdlb,

Crikey! eSnips are certainly dragging their feet reinstatiing your eine kleine file. Most frustrating.
We must find a way to get it up and running.

Thank you for the comment at Mono. I'm thrilled you like it and that it was able to offer some relief for you after that lousy week.

Best Wishes

Dear Spider,

I'm sorry to see that you are experiencing problems with this uploading/copyright malarkey. Having music, of which you are indeed the sole composer, performer and copyright holder, apparently censored on the grounds of suspected copyright issues, is downright infuriating and extremely unjust.

Shall we write to the site administrators to appraise them of this farcical situation/glitch with your work? I'm game, if you are.

Whatever, I hope you soon get a satisfactory result over this.

Best Wishes,

Dear Spider,

I've been having the same upload problem - files apparently arriving, only to be pronounced no-longer available once they have - but I eventually got round it by moving the supposedly nonexistent file back over to a private folder, then back to the intended folder.

Best Wishes and of course Thank You,

~ BG

Dear Spider,

You are quite right, I'm such a dreadful, incorrigible scamp - uploading "remixes" to ensure chart-topping success... heehee! Even so, thank you for faving the Lytham mixy too.

Yes, I've had a good old recce round StAnnes for police telephone boxes... I've also spent some considerable time engaged on investigative ops (loitering) outside the police station (although I feel I must be honest with you and admit to that particular activity having more to do with an "artistic" appreciation for female officers than telephone boxes... 'ello 'ello 'ello!) but no such box have I spied. That said, as you know, they do have a tendency to be there one second and gone the next! Have you spotted any around Whitstable or the legendary Herne Bay?

As to the Red Panet - did you see that "Race To Mars" prog, on Discovery, over the Easter weekend? I got well wrapped up in that. Had to use a wee bit of visual filtering though, due to the Mars portrayed being a bit... erm... fuzzy. Enjoyable all the same. Pangs...

Pod-wise: I've run Eine Kleine through Audio Cleaning Lab and I've also tried filtering it through Audio Studio's various devices too... but so far, all I have managed to do is take a sliver of hiss off (being ever careful not to strip that essential "zizz" off the top of the fuzz effect, of course). I've tried adding a touch of reverb to give transparency to the recordings , but have found such treatment, so far, takes the "punch" out of the primary middle-image. So, I'd like to take a little more time (what?! more?!) on - go away and come back to - Eine Kleine, if I may? As you know, that "fresh-ear" approach can often prove rewarding when doing a restorrative/enhancement jobbie (it's so easy to become filter deaf, during repeated trial runs). More subtle remedies than the ones applied to the Spiderdome tapes are called for here.

Best Wishes,

~ BG
