It looks rather young with polished surface. It is the picture of a pair samurai(s) stalking with straw sandals carried on the top of poles, mat clothing, half-naked below the waist, and bearing Dai-Sho katana. What is the meaning? It is an interesting picture.
BTW, I think that the motif is two children of peasants playing samurai procession.
