本文通过被动测量的方法即解析pplive数据包的形式对pplive客户端的行为进行了一些基本研究。经过初步研究,我们获得了如下PPLiv客户端行为的理解: 1. 对pplive 的工作机制有了一定认识,主要解析了三个问题:用户如何加入pplive网络并获取peer列表、peer间的交互过程以及pplive的双缓冲区和数据流化过程。 2. Buffer特性,分析了buffer里的重要变量t、offset、Buffer长度、BmPv长度以及他们之间的关系。得出BM随着时间均匀滑动,约每五秒发送一次BM(buffer map),BM移动速度约为每秒十个chunk信息。 3. 分析有双向数据传输的peer特性,通过大量的数据图表得出pplive网络中peer之间的mesh结构。在所有有数据传输的peer中,约60% peer有互惠,他们互惠的流量占了总流量的80%,根据UUSee的互惠模型得出互惠系数为0.273. 4. 对Partner Peer的选择与保持,由具体数据与图表可以看出,在所有的Partner Peer中,少数peer贡献了多数数据,前十名的peer在时间和流量上都较稳定,存

本文致力于研究PPLive网络的拓扑特征,并在此基础上寻找PPLive拓扑的可视化方法。首先,本文从经典的图形特征参量,如度,聚合系数,以及互惠等方面出发,来探索PPLive网络的拓扑特征;另一方面,本文用BOSAM图来将PPLive拓扑可视化,并且尝试使用网络可视化工具——“蜘蛛”(pajek)来研究PPLive网络的拓扑特征,并将其拓扑可视化。另外,我也将本文的研究结论与现有的对点对点文件共享应用的拓扑研究的成果进行了比较,例如与Gnutella网络的拓扑的研究成果进行了比较,从而得出了一些重要的关于点对点流媒体拓扑的结论。 通过本次研究,主要得出了以下结论:(1)PPLive网络中,大多数的源peer其peerlist中包含的peer数目接近50。而在Gnutella网络中这个数目约为30。(2)PPLive网络的聚合系数和互惠都比UUSee网络的小。(3)PPLive网络的BOSAM图和ER随机模型的BOSAM图外围轮廓相似,且两个网络的聚合系数都比较小。(4)PPLive网络的BOSAM图和Gnutella网络的BOSAM图外围轮廓相似,且两个网络的聚合系数在同一数量级上,都
