Beit Habubot - Shir ba-Iparon
Yes, a relatively new Israeli band.
בית הבובות
or Beit Habubot
which means - The House of Dolls, I guess
If you're listening to the song and have absolutly NO IDEA what they're saying, I thought I'd write the lyrics. I didn't do the whole song, I'd need help from someone who knows the double meanings and stuff, in Hebrew. The Chorus, however, I think I could handle.
Here it is (if you're interested) - oh, the chorus starts at about 1:13 into the song.
כי בחיים הכל עובר
Ki Ba-chayim hakol ovair
Because in life, everything passes
מטעויות למד והשתפר
Mi-ta'uyot lamad v'hishtapair
From mistakes, we learn and improve
מה שקולך הפנימי אומר, זו האמת שלך
Ma sh'kolcha hap'nimi omair, zo ha'emet shelcha
What your internal voice says, this is your truth
לא, לסלוח זו לא חולשה
Lo. lislo'ach ze lo chulsha
No, to forgive is not a weakness
נצור אהבה בדרכך
Natzor ahava b'darkecha
Treasure love in your way
ודע, את כל הסובב אותך
v'da, et kol hasovev otcha
And know, all that surrounds you
If you're smart, you're figured out the ingenius coding I've used
But at least you can follow along on the chorus if you don't read or understand Hebrew. If it's youre first time reading phonetics in Hebrew, the "ch" is this unique vibration done in the back of your throat, like you're about to wad one.
If your Hebrew's better than mine, and you have a suggestion, please let me know. There were a few word groupings that I'm sure I could have translated differently.
I love the song, and the group. I love the vocals mostly. The words are OK, somewhat kitch. I didn't put them up here for their deep heavy meaning (it's a bit adolescent for me) but since I love the band and their sound, I put it up here.
Enjoy!!!
