Great Theological Works for use in e-sword
|
|
|
| |
For new users 1. Get E-Sword from www.e-sword.net, 2. put these files into your e-sword directory (or Documents\e-sword) 3. Start e-sword and open up the topic tab, scroll to the book of your choice. I am a proponent of those that believes Christ saved me initially, fully, and completely when I accepted his redemption. I know where I am going for eternity. I am an adopted child. Christ saves and we are the recipient. (I will always be his adopted child) The second part is conditioned on works. I can be a faithful child or non-faithful child. Works are not necessary to stay saved or conditional requirement in order to be saved but should be out of our love for the Lord and the lost.

| -From Introduction. Beloved, if we had but an earthly treasure in our gardens, and did not quite know where it was, would there be a bit of the garden that we would not turn over with pick and spade to get at it? Yet here is heavenly treasure! |

| From Intro.. "The word "synthesis" has the opposite meaning - "analysis." When
we analyze a subject we take it apart and consider it in its various elements, but when we
synthesize it we put it together and consider it as a whole, which is what we are now about to do
in a certain sense with the Word of GOD." |

from Preface, "MANY valuable books have been written on the general subjects related to the kingdom. A partial list of these is appended herewith; but no similar work covering, in brief form, the historic and prophetic aspects of the kingdom in their relation to the present age-purpose was known to the writer: hence this volume. It is hoped that this book will prove a comprehensive, if not exhaustive, treatise on this important theme." |

| The book is here and now committed to the care of
Him whom it seeks to exalt in the fervent prayer that
through His grace it may show the way into happy,
victorious, fruitful Christian living to many in bondage.

| (Wikipedia) Dr. William Eugene Blackstone (October 6, 1841 – November 7, 1935) was an American evangelist and Christian Zionist influenced by Dwight Lyman Moody, and author of the Zionist Blackstone Memorial of 1891. .. he proclaimed the premillennial return and rapture of the Church. As he ministered across the U.S., Blackstone spoke with increasing fervor in support of Zionism. In 1881, he wrote, Jesus is Coming. |

| A very thought provoking study on The Resurrection, Christ's and ours. This book is in Public Domain but you can buy a great copy from http://www.schoettlepublishing.com/catalog/govett.htm. It is also available on books.google.com. What happens to the unfaithful Christian on the resurrection - Govett gives some startling answers to this. Great place to study the deeper things of God's Word. |

| ..The Guide for the Perplexed, originally written in Arabic, and soon translated into Hebrew and widely read, ..Maimonides delves into the most difficult questions of theology and reality itself, many of which are still controversial today. Did the universe have a beginning? Will it ever end? What is the nature of evil? Does the complexity of organic life imply some kind of rational design? - From Index http://www.sacred-texts.com/jud/gfp/index.htm |

| Public Domain. "Far too greatly have we been taught that if but “once in grace’ without further obedience, or loyalty, or keen following of the “way of the cross,” entitles us to literally everything that God has for His people! It is our conviction that so has this been stressed that it lies at the back of the backslidden, “dry rot” condition of the church—even within the ranks of much-professing, Fundamentalism today." -from last chapter. |

| Some people seem to think we have got beyond the commandments. What did Christ say? ..(Matthew 5:17-18)
The commandments of God given to Moses in the Mount at Horeb are as binding today as ever they have been since the time they were proclaimed in the hearing of the people. The Jews said the law was not given in Palestine (which belonged to Israel), but in the wilderness, because the law was for all nations. -1st chapter. Public Diomain |

| Public Domain. "Our present undertaking is a very simple one. We seek to show, by a few examples, the boundless range and scope of one brief phrase of two or three short words: in Christ, or, in Christ Jesus. A very small key may open a very complex lock and a very large door, and that door may itself lead into a vast building with priceless stores of wealth and beauty. This brief phrase -- a preposition followed by a proper name -- is the key to the whole New Testament." - From Introduction |

| When Jesus Himself, who knows both the deep counsels of the Eternal Spirit, and man's wants and weaknesses and unworthiness, and who loveth his own to the end, pledges his never-failing word, that whatsoever we ask the Father in his name, He will give it us, can it be less than an unworthy distrust of his truth and faithfulness to ask the Father for the merits and by the intercession of another?
