This song was first sung in the USA in 1918. Mae West and Bessie Smith both had huge hit recordings. Several decades later, Sinatra and Les Brown also earned big accolades for their versions. 91 years later, this version is mine, from my keyboard - using the blues organ sounds of Jimmy Smith. I hope you enjoy. Thanks if you listen.

This very sad, but beautiful song was written in 1932 by Ann Ronell. It was recorded by a very long list of great performers over the years, such as Ella, Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Art Tatum, and the list goes on and on......here you will hear my very humble keyboard interpretation of this famous song - - the only song Ann ever wrote, as far as we know.

This song was written in 1941 by Billy Strayhorn specifically for Duke Ellington to use as his "signature" piece for his live radio broadcasts at the time. I can't come close to emulating Duke Ellington, but I did enjoy playing this in my own style. Thank you if you listen.
