These are my spiritual poems, I write about spiritual subjects quite alot and right now about one third of my poems are spiritually related. I'm a Christan and therefore I write from such a perspective. As I grow in my faith my beliefs tend to change as I get to know God better. Here are some of my beliefs.
Some of what I believe
What I believe
Like I said, I am a Christian ,but I don't necessarily believe what
most other Christians believe. Here is a list of some of the beliefs
that I have which are a little different from other Christians.
1. that there is a little piece of God in everyone
2.Jesus is the only way to God ,but that doesn't mean that Jesus' Spirit can't be found
working in other religions and leading people from them that honestly
wish to live good lives ,and showing them truth and making them more
godly. Jesus said that when we seek God wefind God. He didn't say we'd
always find God in the institutional Church ,or where we expect to find
God. I believe that God cares about where our heart is ,not what label
our religion wears.
3.All religions have a mixture of both truth and error in them, even Christianity.
4.That life is a journey and that union with God is the destination
5.That God's mind and personality are both part male and female and that because
we are made in God's image ,so is each of us
6. That prayer, meditation and contemplation are all important tools that are needed in pursuing God.
Note -in the west we call what those in the east call meditation ,contemplative prayer
7. That having a living breathing relationship with God is more important then reading a book
8. That the most important things about God are known through intuition and not reason
9. That the philosophical principle of dualism is important in understanding life
10. That if Jesus was on earth now He wouldn't be a republican or democrat, but probably a moderately conservative independent
11. That each of us should decide what we honestly believe is true, and
live by it and not just follow a crowd or buy into prepackaged belief
systems.
12. That it makes sense for Christians to believe in tolerance because
it it the logical extension of the concept of loving and accepting
others.
13. That it is not consistently pro-life to believe in the death penalty .
14. That sometimes people say some things are wrong because of
ignorance or personal emotional bias and/or ego not because they have
honestly thought about it and arrived at the independent conclusion
that it is wrong.
15. That why you do something is more important then what we do or don't do,
because God cares about what is inside our heart most of all.
16. That you can be a “good” person ,but if you don't do it for the right reasons then it doesn't matter.
17. That God lives in the silence ,and we'd find God more if we'd just quite our minds and environments more.
18. That knowing one's self is not the same as knowing God but it is an important part of it.
19. That there is a such thing as too much work, and it is just as wrong to be a workaholic as it is to be lazy.
20. That God can use anyone to make the world a better place not just Christians .
