Shadow Drawings eSnips Folder
Shadow Drawings
In previous years I have been exploring formal and spatial relationships between painting practice and drawing. I used journeys to produce a series of small paintings and drawings on paper in the form of a diary.

Thanks for your interest.

Some of the shadow work is on paper, some on large scale canvases. I captured the original shadows cast by sun and flora onto the paper or canvas. I quickly sketched the outline to capture the forms and shape, then return to my studio. I also use coloured ink as it runs nicely when mixed with water. Additionally thick water solvable pens, or watercolour offers beautiful running formation on the surface when wet. It is important to work flat, so you can control the movement of the paint. Experimental paintings are mad this way.

I liked the drawings you did...
I haven't come across such a technique earlier...
Could you share with me some information regarding how you did it, what inspired you, what medium and what type you used to draw these pictures...
Is it a different style of drawing altogether or it your own style...??
In all I loved your work and would appreciate it even more if you could share with me the details too...
I give it a 5 Yellow StarYellow StarYellow StarYellow StarYellow Star rating... :)

The crisp strokes convey the artist's view to the viewers. Its really amazing what simple lines can do. Thoroughly enjoyed the drawings.

Ih, hi! thanks.
I will see - how to do that. I love animation - I started with Tom & Jerry, cinema's weekends, I still love them, and learn and apassionated when for the first time I watch a film by Norman MacLaren. Uau.

I just "don't have time" but one day I will do it. Thanks a lot.

Health and peace. And a kiss (please, understand that: in Brazil it is usually "to send a kiss").

I like simplicity, got it? I like oriental arts, and the "sumie" drawings are my passion. Your "shadows" remind me the sumie tecnique.

Beautiful. Simple. Thanks.

Health and peace.
