I was sent part one of this poem by a friend and decided to write part two as a continuation from the White Rose's point of view.
Butterfly Sting
 
BUTTERFLY
Part One 

A Butterfly fell in love with a White Rose.

One day the Butterfly proposed to the Rose.

The White Rose told him she didn't love him.

The Butterfly didn't fly away.

Instead, he cut his body and spilled his blood all over the White Rose.

The Rose turned blood red,
Then realised she did love the Butterfly after all.

But the Butterfly was no longer alive.

"Love sacrifices. Sometimes it's useless,

especially if that person doesn't appreciate it.

They'll come to realise the important things when it's too late".

BUTTERFLY
Part Two

The White Rose, now blood red,
felt so very sad and grieved inconsolably for the Butterfly.

She couldn't believe that he'd do such a selfish thing.

She knew his feelings were terribly hurt
But never thought he would return the hurt in such a way.

She carried the guilt of his death for the rest of her life.

A punishment for not loving him in the same way he loved her.

How could she accept the proposal from a Butterfly,
When she was already betrothed to a Bee?

She always feared a sting from the Bee,
But never imagined that she'd feel a more painful sting from a Butterfly.

She then realised that she was always going to get stung.

Her blood stained petals stayed as an ever lasting reminder
Of the Butterfly's suicide and her own infidelity and selfishness.

Gradually, with the passage of time,
They faded to a grim shade of grey.

Eventually, one by one, the petals fell to the ground.

Until none were left.

She withered and died,
Still feeling the pain in her heart of the Butterfly's sting.

AN ANGEL IN MY ARMS.jpg
This poem is dedicated to my beautiful daughter Dayna. She was born 13 weeks prematurely and weighed only 1lb 14ounces at birth.It was a very traumatic time but we came through it. It's good to remember how lucky we are.. No matter what difficulties you face in your life. Live it!

A KISS TO YOU DEAR MOON.htm
I wrote this poem after gaining inspiration from the picture. The original picture is in Anushka's The Sun, Moon and Me Folder and they were all taken by her mum Susha. Many thanks for allowing me to use the picture Anushka and also Susha. I've enjoyed writing the poem and hope you like it.
