crayon on a random piece of paper, background = some fabric used as filling in an industrial box to protect material. I was supposed to make a sketch by heart from a friend of mine but then I decided to add some eyeliner and moustache and voila! ;-)

water color/aquarel. We used to raise young pheasants for a while. This one was attacked badly by another male. I kept him inside the house to take care for him, all his head was badly hurt. He recovered well and walked right behind me like a dog. He is free now and I do see him once a year.

Monk ( Palermo ) reconstruction .jpg
Gouache and ink. Based upon a photograph of a mummified monk, somewhere in Palermo, Sicily/ Italy ; the photo was published in the Dutch National Geographic, February 2009. His bonestructure and hair are still well visible and I was touched by it, so I tried to make a reconstruction of his face. It is the first time that I did something like this. This portrait shows an ascetic, peaceful monk.
