Sorry for such a long review! This album has some undeniably great songs, so I wrote a bit more.Happy listening! ^___^
Dai 7 Jikkenshitsu has good variety regarding the songs' styles. Starting off with some impressive guitar playing as an intro, "Haikara.Satsubatsu.Haiso.Zessa." is quite a treat for the listeners' ears. "Kajika" is much more mellow, but not in a soothing way. The high-pitched vocals add the unique-ness. Third song, "Mahoraba Blues" gives off an energetic appeal with quick electronic instruments and vocals. Guitar and bass lines are well-made and inventive.
The fourth song, "Maguro" (another favorite), is very entertaining and catchy, with Shuuji singing about spinning tuna fish and Ao's back-up vocals, which make this song freaking perfect!! XDD Fifth track, a comical skit where... Ao is a woman?! (I think, my understanding of Japanese is not very good >...>) XD LMAO a good laugh for the cali gari fans, especially the way everybody talks in it... lol. Next track, "Kuroi Kyuutai" is a bit similar to the style of "Mahoraba Blues", but happier sounding. At some parts, Shuuji's voice seems to have a bit of the sarcastic tone of hidesama's (R.I.P.) voice, I think.
Seventh song, the slightly electro "Kirikiri Maimu" can be described by the single word 'funky'. "Digitable niuniu" is also a techno-style song, and seems to be influenced by older works of music. Sounds like something I could definitely dance to. XD "Tainai Souon Ayanashi Anchi Kushou" stands out as something on the more beautiful side of cali gari's works. An electronic song, it conveys the tranquil feelings of bonds between child and mother. To listen is to understand. Next song, "Wazurai", has a pretty catchy tune that sounds mixed with blues.
"Toukyou roze wo Mondo" begins with some nice traditional music, then turns into a nice jazzy piece with someone stating people's names and ages in the background. The vocals seem like a whisper, but the song still manages to be revitalizing, using the instruments as the backbone of the song. Next track, "Sora mo Waratteru" is an addictively depressing piece, which is quite strong and emotional. Translated, the title itself makes one ponder, "The Sky is Laughing". Unlike most of cali gari's other works, this song provides rough vocals and pained screaming, deepening the overall impact of the song.
Second to the last is "Toukyou Byou", which is one of cali gari's most handsome pieces (in my opinion). Shuuji's vocals are kind and gentle, paired with more Western influenced accoustic and tune, create a song with peacefully paints a nice image for the listener. The last track's song, "Shikkin", begins about on minute after the track starts.
It is a hard rock song with all screaming, and has the quality of a demotape's track.
