Kichesipirini Algonquin First nation has been actively attempting to gain recognition and inclusion in the Algonquins in Ontario Land Claim negotiations. We have raised concerns about a number of issues. Of particular concern are matters of good governance, anti-corruption mechanisms, accountability and historical integrity. We are committed to transperancy so we have made these files available.

Indigenous Peoples and Canadians need access to independent information regarding International Law and how the denial of such access is compromising a free and democratic society contributing to fiscal crisis and environmental degradation. Lack of impartial information and independent legal services are negatively affecting the lives of all grassroots Canadians while a select few profit at our expense.

All Canadian domestic policy is illegal as it has and continues to discriminate against Traditional Indigenous or Aboriginal Title blocking all Canadians from important benefits and contributes to culture of fiscal corruption.

April 3, 2008Kwey After months of communications with different United Nations bodies, including filings with International Criminal Court for investigation into the ongoing genocide of the Kichesipirini Algonquin First Nation through the application of Canadian domestic policy the Kichesipirini Algonquin First Nation, as a still sovereign indigenous nation in Canada, after refusing to leave their territory or acquiesce any rights by coming under domestic policy, has been invited to attend, the Seventh Session of the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.‏ We go, as is our traditional role, to represent the best interests of all our relatives, all Indigenous Peoples of Canada, honouring the spirits of our ancestors, ensuring that the Indigenous Peoples of Canada will be recognized and respected as a founding Peoples of Canada. O Canada, oma endjibayangNindakimnang! Sincerely,Paula LaPierrePrincipal SachemKichesipirini Algonquin First NationBy Honouring Our Past We Determine Our Future---------Kichesipirini Algonquin First Nation

From "Stragglers" to "Squatters" to now being labelled "Splinters". How the dominant culture attempts to discredit the legitimate Algonquins. Very disappointing coming from Mr. Crane. Watch for the next two Kichesippi Current soon to be released as well as correspondence with INAC.

Thank you to Mr. Aitken, Federal Negotiator, and Mr. Crane, Provincial Negotiator, for the very positive and constructive negotiations meeting. We appreciate their acceptance of the Kichesipirini Land Claim Submission and look forward to continued progress. Myself, and my associates that attended with me are certain that in working together there will be productive relationships forged that will further the important reconcilliation of the Algonquin concerns.
Migwetch!

We would like to thank Mr. Crane for his prompt response but will require his definition of "due process". We have been waiting 150 years. I think time is up. We hold title and jurisdiction so our concept of due process supercedes.
Thank you.
