Hello everybody, and welcome to my e-snips

My name is Marija and, 'officially', I'm a costume designer. I also 'work' as a performer in the artistic/performatic group I have with some friends, called "The Fire Brigade" - but at least for now, that's just hobby. Although I love costume design (design, art and history, in general) to death, lately I find myself completely enthralled by music - specially Balkan music. Music always played a very important part in my life, now more than ever. All this excitement about balkan music lead me to start working as a producer, in order to try to bring a "balkan music scene" to the place I live in (that is, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil).

I created the "Balkan and Eastern Europe Music" folder to help 'balkanizing' some friends and people I know.  In there you're gonna find music from the most tradicional gypsy singers to remixes created by some of today's greatest DJs, passing through both tradicional balkan dances and music styles (such as kolo, oro, cocek and rembetika) and 'modern' rhythms (like rock, ska, dub, break beats & drum'n'bass).

I always try to put some info on the artist/band of the tracks I upload. But if there's any additional info you'd like to know, please feel free to ask, I'm willing to help whenever I can, providing info and more files :)

Ohh, and don't forget to check out the "Balkan and Eastern Europe Music" folder from time to time - I'm always adding new stuff!
