About me

Since I'm moderating the photo community, I plan to mainly focus on photos ( as my content on esnips ). I have taken thousands, locally and from my limited travels in this great and beautiful state.

Every photo posted is one I took myself. Some are slightly edited, cropped or enhanced, to try out some of the photo tools available.

For those who visit my folders and are photographers, yourself, let me give some clues as to how to attract more attention to your photos.

1. Name the photo. Give a description of what we are looking at, when needed. Some photos are self evident as to why you took the picture. Others may have so much to look at within the picture, that we may wonder what the point of the picture is... besides sharing a pretty scene.

2. Post on your profile or somewhere prominent.... "These are my own original pictures." That will help me find pictures to feature, without featuring a pic someone took from the net, to show here, because they liked it. I WILL NOT FEATURE PICTURES TAKEN FROM THE WEB! We want ORIGINAL PHOTOS. ( If I happen to feature a stolen photo, let me know, please. Send me a link to where the original photo was taken from, if you can.)

3. Tell us a bit about the picture. I can't say that often enough. Most images I take, aren't written about, but are self evident. Others that may make people wonder, I always try to state something about it, or make a point of saying something in that folder. If I don't say anything about it... ASK! Let people know you are willing to tell them about the photos. Don't wait for them to ask... just do it. See if your views increase.

4. Open each picture that you wish to be shared or downloaded. Unfortunately that's the way it's set up. So, until changes are made on the download feature... you have to click each picture and check the "enable downloads" button.

5. Make a statement in your intro or first post, that if someone wants an image, to message you and you can, at that time, make the picture available for download.

There are many ways of getting your photos out and viewable. Go visit other folks' folders and let them know how much they appreciate your work/hobby. The more you look around, the more you are looked AT.

And, if you have questions, feel free to message me. I'm not a professional photographer, but there are many here who know more tricks of the trade, than I ever will. Go to the forums and into the photos community. You can usually get good information there, by either searching or ASKING.

Keep posting those photos, folks... it's good for you to get out, enjoy the world around you, then share it with the rest of us.

Snow and Mountains in Montana
You'll find images, many of which are from right here in the beautiful Flathead Valley. But, as I can afford or need to travel around the state, I'll also be taking pics along the way. This folder will focus on mountains, snow covered, forests, etc.

Flowers
These are pics of flowers, taken from all over the Flathead Valley, but mainly in the Kalispell Area. Most were taken with my Kodak Z650, but this summer, I have a new camera. Apparently, 6500 photos was too much for my Kodak Digital... now I have a new Canon S5 IS, that is a step or two upward. I hope it lasts more than little over a year.

Historic Montana
Here, I will share some history of Montana, through photos and description. I love my state's historic bacground and the pioneers who built the state and country, through hardship and hard work. Their legacy and visibility is slowly disappearing, but through photos I hope I can preserve and share all things historically attached to Montana.

Winter In The Valley - NW Montana
Each winter, I take some short drives around my hometown area and the Flathead Valley, finding ... rather... looking for something that catches my eye... trying to find beauty, out of the cold and "death" of winter.

Montana Camels and Zebras
Camels... actually a Dromedary... in Montana? Zebras in Montana? Yep. A local person with lots of $$$$$ ( obviously more than I!! ) has zebras and a Dromedary that is the biggest HAM I've ever seen. Thus, this folder. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed visiting the critters, as I do very often.
