There's this Organisation in Jadobpur, Kolkata, India called Marfot, who have been organising a baul-fokir festival for the second year running. They released a selection of their debut year's songs on the second year, thats 2007. The songs in this folder are from that album, selected according to my preference. Mousumi Bhowmik, a great favourite of mine, is associated with this project.

Indian Street Music - The Bauls Of Bengal

This is a 1970 vinyl record (digitally remastered) of Purno Das and his brother Lakkhan Das. I'm fortunate to have the original album artwork and backcover as well. In all probability the very first international Baul record, this is right after the brothers had a brush with Woodstock 69. On side A there are three songs by three Bauls including Lakkhan Das. Side B is where a young Purno Das rules! Enjoy!
