About me

Hello & welcome to my esnips channel!

I'm Tony Bartlett, a Rock guitarist, band & solo from Bristol in the UK.

I've been gigging since the early 60's. The music uploaded here is my band stuff through the years, old & new. Also my original solo music & music video projects.

I'm very busy with all kinds of projects, so i may be a bit slow getting new content on here. I hope you'll pop back periodically to see how i'm doing. Cheers!

Enjoy your romp through the great 'Esnips'! A great way

to meet new friends, hear great music and see great media!

Tony's Music Compositions - 2000.
Where are all the hippies!! Strat' Guitar, Guitar synth Roland GR33 and Roland MC 505 groovebox music. These are a collection of my more stoney moments. Intended to include written lyrics which i haven't got round to yet,but hope to soon. They are geared more towards the 'luvly substance' clan and are better heard through a good sound system.Computer sound is a bit weedy unless you've got a turbo charged wonder system on your pc. Roll one up folks!!

'The Eaglettes'- Shadows style Instrumentals
To everyone who enjoys 'The Shadows' music! These are old recordings of my 'Shadows'style band.Originally we existed in Bristol, England in the early 60's. Reformed here for a short while in the mid 80's. Recorded in rehearsal on a reel to reel in a very echoey hall!

1. 'Some People' Mk.1 (Band) 1989
Live 60s music. Sadly, this was recorded on a pocket cassette recorder laid on a club table on one side of the room and so the sound and balance is awful, but is the only record of the days i played with my brother Mervyn who passed away in 1990.This is my tribute to him. Knock 'em & rock 'em where'ever you are Merv'! Always remembered and very much missed. Band Members: Lead Guitar, vocals,Tony Bartlett. Rythmn Guitar, vocals Mervyn Bartlett.Bass Guitar, vocals,Dave Rogers.Drums, vocals,Brian Smith.

2. 'Some People' Mk.2 1991.
When my brother passed away, we struggled on for a year, but with conflicts in the band & the lack of my brother's vocals, we called it a day. This is a few songs from the last gig, New years eve '92 . Unfortunately, not a good recording, but the only record i have from those days. It's after this i joined 'The Rockin' Wrinklies',who later became 'Somethin' Else'

'Phase 1'
60's covers band. We are on the road again! Now called 'Phase 1'. Same band as before, ('Rockin' Wrinklies', 'Somethin' Else') minus the singer. New bassist Dave Rogers from my old band 'Some People'. We're sharing the vocals now. We are not great singers, but we sound a little rougher n' raunchier! Recorded on a camcorder in a rehearsal session, so not optimal quality. Nice to be out there Rockin' again!

Hi Tony, West here. Thanks for stopping by my Doddles folder... something I do in my free time, which, by the way, i don´t have anymore. I became a dad a month ago! (You can see some pics here). Wesjan (that´s his name!) is the coolest little guy in the whole world! We´re both really very proud and happy.
I haven´t had so much time to play on esnips for a while. Was busy with a video project and now that the little guy is here spare time is cut to a minimum. Must confess, I haven´t stopped by your site in a while... but thanks for keeping contact though. Do you also know facebook.com? It´s also a cool site, a bit different from esnips, but cool in the sense that you can sometimes track down old friends and acquaintances. I already trackerd down some uys I was in film school with. The trick is, they already have to be on facebook... but it´s still nice to find the odd bloke here and there that one has lost touch with over the years. Check it out: www.facebook.com If you for instance search for me (West Black) in he search thingy, you won´t see much, but if you are signed up yourself, then a world of fun opens to you! You can create your won grafitit, post video(that works) on your page, put in all your contact details and a whole bunch of other fun stuff. However, you need to have an account (free though, like esnips) there.
Hey, we´ll talk again soon, ok? If you send me your email address to westblack2000 @ yahoo.com, I'll send you an invite to facebook, it speeds up the process a bit if someone invites you.
All the best and talk soon,
West
