About me

While living in Paris, these photos and my real-life adventures inspired my novel, Full Circle In France.

A blend of nonfiction autobiography and humorous fiction, the story centers on Rebecca Benning, a minister’s daughter who leads a most unconventional life. Fused with hilarity, hardship, triumph, introspection and inspiration, the novel follows the protagonist through her life as she encounters yet overcomes considerable obstacles. Along the way, many extraordinary characters and dramatic escapades influence her perspectives about life, love, family, religion, work, play, relationships and a lot of other stuff. Click here to see what happens to "Rebecca" after her Full Circle in France.

Palais Royal ~ awesome and abstract
Situated opposite the north wing of the Louvre, the Palais Royal today houses the French national government: the Conseil d'État, the Constitutional Council and the Ministry of Culture. In the great courtyard, the Colonnes de Buren is a preferred site for photographers ~ and cute little boys with shiny red bikes.

Jardin des Tuileries
Connecting the Louvre with the Place de la Concorde, the lovely Jardin des Tuileries was once the site of brutal slaughter, but is today a venue where lovers kiss, children play, executives chat and workers relax.

Under Paris Skies at Château de Versailles
Marie Antoniette was here! From 1682, when King Louis XIV moved from Paris, until the royal family was forced to return to the capital in 1789, the Court of Versailles was the centre of power in Ancien Régime France.

Place des Vosges
Revered as Paris's oldest square and Henri IV’s vision for urban planning, Place des Vosges was also the preferred site to settle scores via formal duels. Today, it’s a favorite spot for hand-in-hand walks, heartfelt talks, family picnics, and child’s play – as evidenced in these photos.

Parc des Buttes Chaumont
Located in the 19th arrondissement, Parc des Buttes Chaumont is a 61-acre park with 3 miles of walkways, paths, lawns, plants and trees. There’s a fantastic 32-meter waterfall that plunges into a circular lake, best viewed from the Sybille temple, or the 63-meter long suspension bridge, and the “suicide bridge” – which is more than 30 meters above ground.

J'espère que le jour prochain où vous pourrez venir en France, vous visiterez aussi Toulouse, Bordeaux, Marseille. Il n'y a pas que Paris qui est si jolie.
