Check out the going rate, and charge 10%-15% less, after all I'm a newbie, can't charge as much as the pros

Decide how much I want to earn per month and divide it by my work hours or number of items I can produce

Buy a book on pricing and follow its advice

Financial uncertainty:

Worries me - I need at least a base amount coming in every month

I can live with it provided I end up with a reasonable yearly income

What's your take on running a business from home?

It's doable provided I have a separate office or work space and train the family not to disturb me during work hours

It would make life a lot easier - I could combine work with raising the kids

It'd be difficult because of all the distractions - perhaps I'd better rent space somewhere else

The amount of time and effort I'd need to invest in my own business is:

Less than in my present job - one advantage of being independent is that you get to choose how many hours to put in

About the same as now - work hours are work hours and evenings are for fun and relaxation
