I started drawing from an early age and it has carried on with me since. Im not much of an academic student, i just dont have the brain for maths. Perhaps its more concentration. I finished high school in 2003 after gaining eleven GCSE's my favourite being art which i acheived an A in along with two B's and the rest C's. I had always known i wanted to do something in art so i carried it on in A levels at Hutton Grammar School where i had a brilliant teacher in my second year who didnt exactly show me the way but guided my through my work. Having his positive reaction showed me i could do what i put my mind too. It was in these years i experimented with paint and drawing on different surfaces and then moving on to 3D work. After completing these i applied for university on a foundation course due to not exactly knowing which direction i wanted to take. I had an idea of teaching just not what area.

 I have just finished my foundation year. Now im thinking wow that went fast. Iv grown in a way that i can now concentrate on one thing and thats developing me and my work. Iv had the chance to bounce ideas off other students. I love to experiment and create texture and generaly visualy pleasing pieces. One activity i enjoy is sitting down and setting myself an hour to see how many designs i can come up with using paint or felt tips. Its really good if your a slow worker like myself.

 Most of my work in my gallery are project final pieces from this year, some of the first pieces go back to fifth year and maybe one or two from college. I have also included some pieces that went well in the build up to the end of the projects. There is quite a variety in the work as during the we were encourage to explore all aspects of media and techniques. It was due to this i started to work with textiles. I learnt to use a sewing machine and i havnt stopped. Over the summer i aim to start off with simple tasks. I have just finished cushion covers for a friend which are in the gallery. I have already had an order from a collegue to produce some covers. Also a piece in my uni exhibtion has just had an offer put in. So the ball is definatly rolling.........
