At the end of my forty years in Europe, I hope to began understanding that all those wealthy and genius Indian personalities who had the opportunity to be in contact with European society and culture had invested themselves to steal cultural materials and sell them to the Indian people in their name at a very high price ( a place in the history and hundred years to remain in people's memory is indeed a very high price, no ?) There are basically three reasons for that (out of many others). No doubt, they were great genius but still with an Indian mentality of "it's always better and marvellous on the other side " and fortunately for them, their cultural hunting ground was full of innocent people unable to verify the authenticity and the real origin of their MAHAGURU’S works and words. And the third one is, nothing was more astucieux than to dance with the colonial music to make life a bit easier (can also resulted in some titles and prizes!) while lot of other colleagues were suffering in prison. Question arises, why don't we have another Rabindranath today? Because no writer or poet of our time have the same height of intelligence like he had, no writer or poet posses their secondary summerhouse in Europe, thanks to communication facilities, we people are in a perfect position to verify the provenance of their works, and last of all, as there are no direct physical form of colonialism, today there are not that much European shoes to shine with our Indian shawl to earn the assurance of a secured, easy and a famous life full of titles and prizes. (I'll be delightful to be wrong!)
