The year of 1998 brings to Iasi the first TATRA T4D trams from Halle- Germany. Until that time, the tram, especially TATRA, was just a pleasure, far away from being considered a passion. 

    I was getting out of school when I saw the first TATRA T4D tram. It was tram no. 201 ex 1010 Halle. Regarding the image of  Iasi TATRA T4R, this tram was a little weird: it had commercials on it, it was painted in red and silver and the pantograph was almost as the ones from TIMIS 2 trams. I've never seen a TATRA with this kind of pantograph until then. I have waited for the tram to get back from Copou terminal and I took a few hours ride with it.

    I was studying architecture, so I knew how to work scale models. Based on what I knew, I decided to start working  on scale  model trams.

    My first tram models were build of  tooth paste boxes. Two pieces of cardboard to create the front and the back of a TATRA , than sticked paper on them. on the paper I draw the windows and the doors, than I coloured them with the specific colour scheme of each existing tram in Iasi. For a good protection I stiked scotch after colouring them.

    My first scale model tram was a TATRA T4R, build on a scale of 1:50, a scale which  allows you to create good details. I went into the depot and I measured the trams than I made my working plans.
