I am Rakesh from Toronto, Canada. I moved into this country six years ago from Bombay, India, with my family.

I have had a passion for music ever since I was a kid – however, I never took any formal training in music (which, I now wish, I had). I grew up listening to the songs of Rafi, Kishore, Mukesh, Lata, Asha to the compositions of R D Burman, Laxmikant Pyarelal, Kalyanji Anandji, Khayyam, Bappi Lahiri and others. As my interest in music grew, I started to explore the music of the other greats who were before my time (like O P Nayyar, S D Burman, Naushad, Shanker Jaikishen) and developed a great admiration for these giants of yesteryears.

Today, I enjoy listening to Shaan, Sonu Nigam, Udit, Abhijeet, Alka Yagnik, Shreya Ghosal, Sunidhi Chauhan, Kay Kay.

I have attempted to record a few songs and have tried to do justice to the numbers sung by the original artists. Your comments and feedback will always be welcomed and will help me to recognize the areas I still need to work on (I know these are plenty). Feel free to post comments.
