On June 30, 2006, we left for West Lafayette, Indiana for the EFCA Youth Challenge Conference at Purdue University. After five days of awesome worship with Chris Tomlin and messages by Francis Chan and other great speakers, we packed up and headed west. We left Purdue at 4:20am on Friday morning and landed in Phoenix, Arizona. For the next week, we'd visit a few churches, stay at a youth camp in Flagstaff, and travel 123 miles each way to do a Vacation Bible School for five days for the Navajo Indians in Bittersprings. We travelled around in two vans...a 12 & 15 passenger. During that week, we would also see the Grand Canyon, various Indian stores that sold handmade items, and the Colorado River. The Navajos prepared us a traditional Navajo dinner one evening, which consisted of Navajo tacos that were made with flatbread.
After returning to Phoenix, we went to Tucson to stay with Dave & Mon for a few days, and then back to Scottsdale to stay our last night with Elton.
Hope you enjoy our photos of our trip through two states.
