| Hi there ! Thought I would update you on the latest change to this once familiar view,The bookie's shop has now become part of the toffee apple and candy floss empire that quietly cornered the sugar fueled tooth decay of East Kent for years,judging by the new Mercedes parked outside it was a good time to invest in carnivals .Currently the bridge is a major source of traffic frustration since undergoing a visit from some transient hole makers ,who have not been seen for a week.The town continues to change weekly with new restaurants regularly making their debuts and demises a source of entertainment.Under the bridge the launderette has now become the latest in a number of hairdressers in the high St.Hatchards that amazing gents outfitters of the last century is currently being gutted and preparing to be the latest pseudo Italian eatery in the form of Costa Coffee.Cox's newsagents is becoming a gallery and appears to still have local connections ,The Bear and Key is now part of the Prezzo caffeine and pizza dispensary and the latest plans for the harbour regeneration included a supermarket ,a hotel and an aquarium but I suspect common sense will eventually prevail and they will fill it in and build a carpark.Weekends in the town are amusing if you are not attempting to get to work,hordes of DFLs wander the streets looking for the elusive charm of the town not appreciating that they are the very reason they cannot find it ,ironic? I am so glad I live in a field ,where the only change seems to be the variety of cereal being grown.Long live Ludd |
