"This love affair with sound is the impetus for one to go on in music. [W. Francis McBeth]"

This violin solo is a study of contemplative, close harmonies and simple themes. Mostly lacking in meter or tempo indications (except “Slow”), this piece allows the violinist much leeway in interpretation. No two players will give it the same angle, and no two performances will move the same way. It is the sister piece to “SummerSet” for solo ’cello. This is the première performance by Roger Zahab, recorded by Dave Hidek in Bellefield Hall, Pittsburgh, on November 12, 2007.
