The 1534 Tyndale Bible. In 1536 Tyndale was executed (burned at the stake using his manuscripts to light the fire). Tyndale did not live to complete his Old Testament translation. On May 21, 1535, he was arrested and later executed for heresy at Vilvorde, Belgium, on October 6, 1536. His dying prayer was that YHVH would open the eyes of the King of England. The next ruler was King James.
