| Actually I was looking for this song to hear its opening high-pitched trumpet, thereby, to remind myself once again the genius of R.D. Burman. And, lo and behold, it turned out to be...bloody karaoke. I hate karaoke, to be honest. I like originals not the Photostat copies. Nevertheless, I heard you sing. I read others' comments about your singing. And like all nice Indians they are economical with truth - or they have no idea about the subtle musical nuances that make great songs........................................ Let me tell you frankly what I think after hearing you sing, mate, and take it as you wish. Your current level of singing is good only for birthday parties or weekend barbeques. Try singing this song without the accompanying music, and you'll know what I mean......................................... Singing like all art forms is an act of true worship. That is, from the outside it may seem you are performing it for world, but deep down you know that you are doing it for none but your Maker; because talent is gift, and you are being thankful. Any other way, and you would be like a temple priest, who lives in the temple 24 hours a day but remains 24 births away from the deity he thinks he owns because of Aarti he performs twice a day........................................ Remember, current level I said. You can go to any higher level of performance by giving your all to your chosen art form, or you can remain at this level for all I care. People will praise you to the high sky, and you’d keep dreaming making it to the Bollywood. But then people also touch feet of the temple priests. Neither people nor the priests get to anywhere. | wish you all the best with something that i am sure is close to your feelings, that is singing. sing with your heart and dont ever think what people might think. sing alive, ekdum zinda while singing. you sing very well but i am sure you can sing better and you know it. dont think about people while you sing, sing for love and truely open heartedly. you are the best. :) |
