| A widget is an easy, visual way to link directly to the eSnips folders or files you that you want to share with readers of your blog or visitors to your website. |
| |
| What’s a widget? |
| A widget is a linked button that you can create and place on any other web page. You decide what to link to, such as a folder, image or any other file, and you choose a graphic style for your button. The HTML code for the widget will be generated automatically. You can then copy the code and place it in any other HTML editor to create the button. You can see some examples of widgets on the right side of this page. |

| Where should I put my widgets? |
Promote your favorite eSnips folders and files from your blog, personal website, or any other web page you can think of.
All you have to do is choose the design you like, copy the HTML code to your site and you're done! |
| |
| Generating the widget code |
- Select a graphic element from the left pane. Be sure to switch between the tabs to see all the options. Preview your widget on the right.
- Copy the code from the box and paste it wherever you want in your blog or website. The code is created based on your selection of a widget and the widget options.

| How do I choose the file that the widget links to?
|
| Generate the code for your widget by clicking on “create a widget” from any page with content on eSnips. This will create a link to that particular item. For example, if you’ve chosen to create a widget to a song, you can find the “create a widget” either below the song listing in the folder. eSnips widgets for image files can also include a thumbnail of the image. |

| eSnips widgets for folders |
| An eSnips Folder widget links directly to the Folder view, where all the associated files for that folder are displayed. eSnips widgets can also include a thumbnail. If you define an image for your Folder, that image can also be included in the Folder’s widget.
To create an eSnips widget for a folder click on the "Create a Widget" link on the right of the folders page. |

| Important Tips |
 |
The folder image will be displayed inside most of the widgets, so if you don't have an image for your folder, we suggest you add one. Simply go to the 'Folder Settings' page and upload the image you want. |
 |
The name of the folder or file is included in most of the widgets. We suggest that you choose a short, descriptive name so it'll be easy to understand what the file or folder is about. To change the name of your folder go to the Folder Settings page. To change a file name go the "Edit" page by clicking on the "Edit Details" link next to the file. |
